The Department of Horticulture has built a solid track record in training entrepreneurs in the fields of Landscape Technology and Horticulture for a number of years.

What is Horticulture about?
If you are passionate about cultivating garden and ornamental plants, such as fruits, vegetables, flowers, and nursery crops then a degree in Horticulture would fulfil your dreams.  The Horticulture course at TUT combines academic and practical training in the field of growing ornamental horticulture for urban landscaping purposes. Students entering this degree learn how to breed and grow garden and ornamental plants and plant species with the right amount of moisture, nutrients and light.

Career opportunities include: Horticulturist, work in the wholesale trade (production), retail trade (sales), researcher, grounds superintendent, greenkeeper, manufacturing/sales.

What is Landscape Technology about?
If you love the outdoors and beautifying of the environment in the urban build areas, then you can fulfil your dreams with a degree in Landscape Technology from TUT.

Career opportunities include, landscape supervisors, landscape designers, nursery managers and landscape contractors.
